Closing merit list of NUST 2016

merit logoNUST has revealed it's 1st ,2nd,3rd,4th,5th, and now 6th merit list of Engineering and of all others fields except Applied Bio-sciences.

The final and 8th merit list is expected to be announced after 17th September after date of joining NUST.

Merit list 2016
The merit of College of EME Rawalpindi rose again this year after falling in 2015.A lot of people had to face problems in choosing field preferences as the abrupt changes in NUST merit can not be predicted except by a word 'increase'.

      (If civil engineering is your 1st preference,Then there are chances that you might be not able to change your preference but If it's not first then you can visit them and ask them that you want to stay on civil and don't want to upgrade.)
      The preference list could be changed before the release of second merit list.
      Unfortunately the time has gone but you can still visit the NUST main office in H12 Islamabad where they make changes upon request.
      So visit there,they might help you..
      It is also recommended to Call them before going to know whether it could be done or not...
      Many people got changed their preference list just before the second merit list to stop up gradation and also to change preferences.

      The marks you enter while submitting application online will be counted....
      Let them be of 1st year or 2nd year.......

      no, I am asking what are the criteria? as HSSC-2 marks are combined part 1 & 2, if the criteria is that part 1 marks will be count, and if a student get low marks in part 2, then it will greatly effect on merit position. actually it happend with me that i submit part 1 and 2 both marks, secured good marks in NET but due to the reason my 2nd year marks used, my merit position went down aprrox. 100

      Sad to hear this.If you had entered 1st year marks alone,it would be better.
      The officials don't reveal much of story but they left it upon us whether which marks we enter..

      According to their criteria,second year marks does not matter much as NUST believes in NUST entry test (NET) more than anything else..

      You need to have a visit of NUST H12 main office otherwise NUST help desk is very lazy.They would never help you on time.
      They take time to reply and mostly they reply with the saying that you should have contacted this department or that...
      SO better visit them...

      If your name is in your favorite field and you don't want to upgrade then they will stop upgradation and will admit you in the fil=eld currently you are in...
      #and if you want down-gradation then you should ask on phone or you should pay a visit to them because it's not only a matter of 4 years but of whole life....

      I am not in my favorite field, i want up gradation in mechanical but due to my merit position,it seems I will not upgrade in my favorite field! if they calculate my merit position as per my HSSC-1 marks, then I will succeed to get in Mechnical!

      A boy visited the main office of NUST and asked whether they count FSC-1 or FSC part 2 marks and they replied,'The one you entered while submitting online form'....Now it's upon you....as you entered Complete inter marks so they will have to count them.....So now the arrow is not in Your hand......

      So you have mechanical engineering on top of preference...So you'll get it if you reach at it in any merit list from 3-8...But they don't change merit position because in this case,change in your position will affect merit position of many others to go high..(those who are at lower numbered merit position... (top)

      Call them because I actually visited their office with a boy but they don't show much interest in queries as they take time in receiving admission documents...
      Call them...and as a last choice you can visit them...
      But it's is sure that they will not change your merit position now....as it will affect many others also

      Very low...because 1st and 2nd merit list show a huge rise in merit than last year's 1st and 2nd merit list of EME...
      1st merit list is closed at 329 this year in comparison to 396 last year.So this makes it difficult but it can not be predicted with 100% accuracy.
      Let's hope for good outcome as people may drop for UET lhr....

      You name will come because half of the students will not go to NUST rather they will wait for UET or go to PIEAS...

      You have no choice.If your merit reaches merit of electrical then you will automatically be transferred there if electrical is your 1st preference.

      Read the selection letter please.You will find that it's necessary to pay fee. Up-gradation to first preference is automatic process.
      If it's not mentioned then try to call them...

      Well,You should check that FSC matters only 15% so to be honest if your marks in FSC and matric (10%) are not very good then you still have 75% dependence on NET which can help you in getting admission.
      My honest opinion for you is to calculate your aggregate and if it's higher than 76% then you are in EME..
      Aggregate is 75% of NET marks,10% of matric and 15% of FSC.

      As you can see,English portions holds 20 marks which mostly include antonyms,synonyms,comprehension,correct spellings and use of correct preposition in a sentence....
      You need to have some practice of them...But I would say spellings are quite natural and take tine while other things could be learnt...You can check NUST past papers tab on top of site which includes a bit sample of NET MCQs which may help you a little...
